WHY UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE ON MY XBOX 360?

Upgrading the firmware on the console's dvd drive allows you to run backup games, so you can keep your original discs safe. Once your firmware is upgraded, all functionality of your console remains unchanged except that backup discs will run in exactly the same was as an original disc. You may still use your console on Xbox Live if you run only original games discs online. If you run your backups online, you risk being banned.
WHAT IS NEEDED TO BACKUP MY XBOX 360 GAMES?

If you already have an image of the game you would like to backup on your harddrive, you can use any DVD+R DL compatible DVD writer to write the image to disc. To create an image of your original disc in order to make a copy, you will need the Samsung SH-D162 DVD reader with Kreon firmware installed. You can purchase these drives from us here: SH-D162 Kreon Drive. These drives are internal IDE DVD drives, and hence you need a PC to install them into to use them. If you only have a laptop, you will need to purchase a 5.25" IDE USB enclosure and put the drive in that to use it. Once you have the hardware you need, you will use Xbox Backup Creator to create your backup in just a few clicks. This software is supplied when you get your console modded. WHY NOT INSTALL A MOD CHIP RATHER THAN UPGRADING THE FIRMWARE?

A mod chip is unnecessary and will do nothing more than the firmware upgrade, and will cost more money. Why make a physical modification to the console, when upgrading firmware does the same thing, and has more advanced features.
